EsimBrand help

Questions worth answering before the airport Wi‑Fi disappears.

Plain-language answers, including the details that tend to be hidden in tiny footnotes.

01What is an eSIM?+

An eSIM is a digital SIM profile built into compatible phones and tablets. Instead of inserting a plastic SIM card, you install a mobile-data profile, usually from a QR code or activation link. Your normal SIM can often stay in the phone for calls and messages while the travel eSIM handles data.

02Will my phone work with an EsimBrand travel eSIM?+

Your device must support eSIM and must not be carrier-locked. Compatibility can vary by exact model and sales region, so check the device settings or manufacturer documentation before buying. If you are unsure, use our compatibility checklist before checkout.

03When should I install the eSIM?+

Install it before departure when you have stable Wi-Fi, but follow the activation instructions for the plan you bought. Many travel plans start their validity when they first connect to a supported network, not when the QR code is scanned. The product page should always show the relevant activation rule.

04Do I need to turn on data roaming?+

Travel eSIMs commonly require data roaming to be enabled on the eSIM line because the profile connects through partner networks. This does not mean your primary SIM should use roaming. Set mobile data to the travel eSIM and follow the order-specific setup instructions.

05Can I keep WhatsApp and my usual phone number?+

Usually yes. WhatsApp is linked to your account/number rather than the SIM currently providing mobile data. You can keep your primary SIM active for calls or messages and use the travel eSIM for data, provided your device supports dual-SIM operation.

06What does “unlimited” mean on a travel eSIM?+

Unlimited day plans normally include a daily high-speed allowance. After that allowance is used, data may continue at a reduced speed under a Fair Use Policy (FUP). The exact high-speed allowance and reduced speed depend on the live plan and must be displayed before purchase.

07When does a day start?+

For day-pass products, the period normally begins at first connection and then follows the supplier plan rules. Some network resources reset around a carrier-local midnight while others behave as 24-hour periods. We show the supplier plan details when they are available.

08Can I use hotspot/tethering?+

Hotspot support depends on the specific plan and network. Many daily eSIM plans support it, but do not assume it for every destination. Check the plan details before purchase if tethering is important for your trip.

09How quickly will I receive the eSIM?+

Provisioning starts only after successful payment is confirmed. Most profiles are delivered quickly, but supplier provisioning can occasionally remain pending. EsimBrand keeps the order state until the provider returns the profile instead of pretending a delayed order is complete.

10What happens if the provider price changes during checkout?+

The server validates the supplier plan again before fulfillment. If the live supplier cost moves beyond the configured safety tolerance, the order is stopped for review rather than silently completing at a loss or switching you to a different product without control.

11Can an eSIM be reinstalled after I delete it?+

Do not delete an installed eSIM unless your instructions explicitly say it can be reinstalled. Reinstallation rules depend on the profile/provider and some QR codes are effectively single-install. Contact support with your order reference before deleting a profile you still need.

12Can I buy the eSIM before I travel?+

Yes, and that is usually the better approach. It gives you time to check compatibility, install while you have reliable Wi-Fi and keep the QR code somewhere safe. Always check the plan’s pre-install/activation window.

13Does an eSIM change my phone number?+

A data-only travel eSIM does not replace the phone number on your primary SIM. Calls and SMS on your normal line remain subject to your home operator’s charges. Some eSIM products can include voice/SMS, but they should be clearly labelled if they do.

14Can I receive bank SMS codes while using the eSIM?+

If your primary SIM remains enabled and has service, you can often continue receiving SMS while using the travel eSIM for mobile data. Charges and roaming behaviour for the primary SIM depend on your home operator, so check its rules before travel.

15What if I buy for the wrong country?+

Do not install or use the eSIM. Contact support immediately with the order reference. Whether an unused profile can be cancelled or refunded depends on the supplier state and the refund policy shown at purchase.

16Do travel eSIMs work on cruises or airplanes?+

Not automatically. Standard terrestrial eSIM plans connect to supported mobile networks on land. Maritime and in-flight networks are separate services and can be expensive. Keep your primary line’s data roaming disabled if you want to avoid accidental satellite/maritime charges.

17Is 5G guaranteed?+

No. A plan may support 5G on certain partner networks, but actual access depends on destination, device, network coverage and network policy. The service can fall back to 4G/LTE or another supported technology.

18How much data do I need for a one-week trip?+

Maps, messaging and light browsing can fit comfortably within modest daily allowances, while video, cloud backups and hotspot use consume much more. A daily plan is convenient because you do not need to predict the entire trip perfectly, but the high-speed allowance and FUP still matter.

19How do refunds work?+

Digital eSIM refunds depend heavily on whether the profile has already been provisioned, installed, activated or used. Our public refund policy must match the supplier’s real cancellation capabilities. If there is a technical failure, contact support before deleting the eSIM.

20Who processes my payment?+

EsimBrand checkout is designed to use Stripe. For white-label partner stores, the partner can connect its own Stripe account; EsimBrand then calculates the platform wholesale amount server-side. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by the storefront code.
